In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

by Israeli Occupation Regime Forceshttp://english.wafa.ps/, https://english.palinfo.com/, https://imemc.org/, https://paltoday.ps/ar/ *** *** European Union: Israel’s actions in Gaza are genocide Thursday 19-June-2025 BRUSSELS, (PIC) The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that Israel’s goal is to take full control of the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the urgent need to increase pressure on Tel Aviv. Her remarks came during a session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, on Wednesday, where, for the first time, Israel’s actions in Gaza were described as “genocide.” The session, titled “Stopping the Genocide in Gaza: Time for European Sanctions,” was initiated by The Left group in the European Parliament, which includes 46 MEPs, and was attended by Kallas, who faced strong criticism from lawmakers. Kallas pointed out that Israel’s actions have gone beyond mere self-defense. She affirmed that the blockade on food and medicine imposed on Palestinians in Gaza has not protected Israel, but instead undermined decades of humanitarian principles. She highlighted that 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, while those remaining are entirely dependent on humanitarian aid, stressing that the humanitarian situation is deteriorating. Kallas said that Israel has used excessive force and destroyed civilian infrastructure, resulting in massive loss of life. She continued: “Israel has declared that its goal is full control over the Gaza Strip. Any annexation, reduction, or alteration of territory constitutes a direct violation of international law.” She added: “If all or part of Gaza’s civilian population is permanently displaced from their homes, this would also be a violation of international law.” “Pressure on Israel must be increased. I will do that myself, as I have many times before.” On May 20, the European Union, following a Dutch proposal, decided to review its Association Agreement with Israel, which grants Israel preferential trade benefits. Kallas is expected to announce the results of this review at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting on June 23. Since October 7, 2023, with full US backing, Israel has committed genocidal crimes in Gaza, resulting in over 185,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children, more than 11,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced. *** The Israeli occupation apartheid regime cracks down on foreign media covering Iranian missile strikes Thursday 19-June-2025 NAZARETH, (PIC) The Israeli occupation apartheid regime police deployed special units on Thursday to prevent foreign media outlets from documenting the impact sites of Iranian missile strikes. In a press statement, the police claimed that foreign journalists were revealing the exact locations of Iranian rocket landings—some allegedly broadcasting live footage via Al-Jazeera—and said patrols had been dispatched to stop the coverage. The move was ordered by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Police Commissioner Danny Levy, and Communications Minister Shlomo Karai, who said it was intended to “maintain the safety and security of Israeli citizens.” Military censorship in Israel strictly prohibits revealing the locations of rocket strikes. According to Channel 12, a photojournalist was arrested Thursday for filming footage for Al-Jazeera. Communications Minister Karai stated on X (formerly Twitter) that following the closure of Al-Jazeera and Al-Mayadeen offices, he had asked legal advisers to explore extending censorship to other foreign networks “that endanger state security during wartime.” The clampdown comes in the wake of a large-scale Israeli attack on Iran early Friday, known as Operation Rising Lion, which targeted military and nuclear facilities and assassinated high-level figures. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes on Israeli military and economic targets, resulting in hundreds of casualties and extensive damage. *** ****** Gaza: Hospitals receive over 69 martyrs, death toll climbs to 55,706 Thursday 19-June-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Over the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 69 martyrs, including several aid seekers, as well as 221 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks. The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to over 55,706 martyrs, including over 430 aid seekers. The total number of the wounded also surged to about 130,101 people, according to Gaza’s health ministry on Thursday. *** Dozens of Gazans killed, injured amid ongoing Israeli genocide Thursday 19-June-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Thursday, to carry out deadly attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring dozens of civilians. According to local media sources, Israeli forces also continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and displace families in the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine. Since dawn today, at least 55 Palestinian civilians, including 12 aid seekers, have been reportedly martyred in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza, Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including an Israeli attack on a gathering of citizens near Al-Zaytoun police station in Gaza City that killed and injured several people. Eleven people were reportedly martyred and many others were injured when the Israeli army bombed a house belonging to the family of Aseela in Jabalya Al-Balad in northern Gaza. Israeli drones also attacked streets full of tents and civilians in the neighborhoods of an-Nasr and Tel Al-Hawa in Gaza City, killing five people and injuring dozens. Dozens of casualties were reported, including martyrs, following an Israeli artillery attack on aid seekers in the southwest of Khan Younus, south of Gaza. Ten other people were martyred and many others were injured when the Israeli army bombed tents sheltering displaced families in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City. A child was also martyred and other people were injured in a drone strike near the Dabit junction in western Gaza. Meanwhile, many Palestinians in Gaza were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks. The Israeli occupation army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women. *** WFP slams deadly attacks on starving Palestinians in Gaza, urges opening of border crossings Thursday 19-June-2025 GENEVA, (PIC) The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has condemned what it called “totally unacceptable violence” against starving Palestinians in Gaza trying to access humanitarian aid, calling for the immediate opening of border crossings to prevent further worsening of the humanitarian crisis. In a statement released Thursday, the WFP said the attacks on civilians waiting for food violate basic human dignity and are deepening the already devastating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The condemnation follows reports that more than 150 Palestinians were killed within 24 hours by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) while gathering at aid distribution sites. Hamas accused Israel of setting up “death traps” in various parts of Gaza, coordinated with the US and Israeli militaries, to target desperate civilians seeking food. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, since May 27, 2024—when the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation,” a US- and Israeli-backed group rejected by the UN, began operating distribution points—397 people have been killed and nearly 3,000 wounded. The UN’s main aid agencies, including WFP, UNICEF, and UNRWA, have rejected any involvement with the group, citing concerns over safety, transparency, and humanitarian standards. The WFP said it has only been able to deliver about 9,000 metric tons of food to Gaza over the last month, “a fraction” of what’s needed to feed the 2.1 million people now facing severe hunger. “This cannot go on,” the agency stated. The UN food agency called for an immediate scale-up in aid access, including the opening of more border crossings, safer routes for aid convoys, faster approval of permits, and reliable communications with teams on the ground. Gaza has been under a total blockade since October 7, 2023, as part of what many international observers and human rights groups have called a genocide carried out by Israel. While thousands of trucks carrying essential supplies are stalled at the border, Israeli occupation authorities continue to allow only a small number through, worsening the crisis by the day. Humanitarian groups estimate that Gaza needs at least 500 aid trucks per day to meet basic food and medical needs, but current deliveries fall far short. Since late May, the IOFs has rerouted aid drops to so-called “buffer zones” in central and southern Gaza under the Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation—an arrangement that the UN has refused to support due to safety and political concerns. *** ý*** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces ***ý Palestinian killed, seven others injured in a shooting attack by the illegal Israeli settlers, near Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Al-Khaleel (Hebron), June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Armed illegal Israeli settlers on Thursday opened fire at Palestinian civilians in the Soureef town, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), killing a Palestinian man and injuring seven others, according to the Health Ministry It announced that 48-year-old Mu'hammed A'hmad Mahmoud Al-'Hur succumbed to his serious injury and another sustained a critical injury after being shot by the illegal Israeli settlers in the town. Mayor of Soureef, 'Hazim Ghunaimat, said that armed settlers, protected by the occupation forces, fired live gunshots at civilians in the Al-Qurainbat area as the latter were attempting to put off a fire started earlier by arsonist colonists, injuring eight civilians, including two seriously injured, one of whom was identified as Al-'Hur. He added that some casualties were rushed to nearby hospitals while the others were evacuated to a local medical center. The settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. The settler violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) in violation of international law. K.F. *** Two Palestinians injured as Israeli forces raid Town of 'Aqraba near Nablus NABLUS, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian citizens were injured by Israeli gunfire on Thursday evening during an Israeli military raid on the town of 'Aqraba, located south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. According to Yousuf Dairiya, a paramedic with the 'Aqraba municipality, the two people were shot after Israeli forces opened fire on a vehicle they were traveling in. Their injuries were described as minor. Following the raid, confrontations broke out between local residents and Israeli occupation soldiers. During the confrontations, Israeli forces fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at residents, resulting in several people suffering from tear gas inhalation. M.N. *** Two Palestinians injured during Israeli military raid on Balata refugee camp in Nablus NABLUS, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) — A young Palestinian man and a woman were injured on Thursday as the Israeli occupation forces continued their raid on the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, for the second consecutive day. According to 'Ameed A'hmed, the Director of the Emergency and Ambulance Center at the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus, medical teams treated a 22-year-old woman who sustained injuries to her hand, as well as a young man who suffered bruises. Both were assaulted by Israeli occupation forces during the ongoing incursion into the camp. M.N. *** IOFs kidnap several Palestinians in the West Bank Thursday 19-June-2025 WEST BANK, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) kidnapped a number of Palestinian citizens and used homes as interrogation centers in the West Bank at dawn Thursday. According to local sources, the IOFs kidnapped two brothers and another citizen after ransacking homes in the southern area of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) City. A female teenager called Ayat 'Uday was beaten and then kidnapped after raiding her home in Bait Ummar town, north of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) . The IOFs also stormed the towns of Bani Na'eem, Sa’ir, and Al-Shuyoukh in Al-Khaleel (Hebron) province, with no reported kidnappings. In Masafir Yatta, Israeli occupation soldiers chased Palestinian shepherds in Janba area and fired tear gas canisters at them. In Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), the Israeli Israeli forces kidnapped 22 citizens from al-Asakra village following raids on several homes. Another citizen was taken prisoner by the IOFs in Nablus City’s Ras Al-'Ain neighborhood. Meanwhile, the IOFs forced about 14 Palestinian families to leave their homes in Balata refugee camp in eastern Nablus and turned them into detention and interrogation centers. About 16 citizens reportedly suffered injuries when Israeli soldiers assaulted them in Balata refugee camp during its ongoing campaign, which started on Wednesday. The IOFs also stormed other areas of the West Bank and raided homes, with no reported kidnappings. *** Israeli military offensive on Toulkarm enters 144th day amid widespread destruction and displacement Toulkarm, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces offensive in the West Bank city of Toulkarm and its refugee camps continues for the 144th consecutive day. The offensive, marked by widespread home demolitions and intensified military presence, has displaced thousands and caused significant damage to infrastructure. According to WAFA correspondent, Israeli bulldozers continued their demolition of residential buildings in Toulkarm refugee camp for the 14th day in a row. The latest demolitions have targeted several neighborhoods including Al-Balawna, Al-Okasha, Al-Nadi, and Al-Sawalma, along with surrounding areas. In the nearby Nour Shams refugee camp, Israeli forces deployed a heavy-duty D10 bulldozer today, escalating a weeks-long demolition campaign. More than 50 buildings have already been razed under the pretext of opening roads and altering the geographic landscape of the camps. This latest demolitions are part of a broader plan by Israeli authorities to demolish a total of 106 buildings across both camps — 58 of them in Toulkarm refugee Camp alone, which include over 250 homes and dozens of commercial establishments, and 48 buildings in Nur Shams. The Israeli military has also imposed a strict siege on both camps and their surrounding areas. Ground troops and armored vehicles are stationed throughout alleys, entrances, and residential zones, preventing residents from returning to their homes or salvaging belongings. Reports indicate that Israeli forces have been firing live ammunition at anyone attempting to approach the areas. So far, the prolonged assault has resulted in the killing of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women — one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured or arrested. Extensive destruction has affected homes, shops, vehicles, and critical infrastructure. Recent estimates show that over 5,000 families — more than 25,000 people — have been forcibly displaced from Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps. At least 400 homes have been completely destroyed, while 2,573 have sustained partial damage. In addition, the entrances to the camps remain sealed with military barriers, rendering the areas nearly devoid of civilian life. M.N *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers *** Note: Despite the Trump administration support for the Israeli occupation apartheid regime, the U.S. official policy is still considering the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian territories as illegal. *** Colonists resume construction of outpost near Huwara, south of Nablus NABLUS, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists resumed construction on Thursday of an illegal outpost in the town of 'Huwwara, located south of the West Bank city of Nablus, according to local officials. Rana Abu Haniya, Head of Public Relations at the Huwara Municipality, said colonists began clearing land and cutting down olive and forest trees in the Jabal Al-Ras area, which lies about 500 meters from residential homes. She added that the colonists rebuilt several makeshift structures and set up tents connected to an electricity supply. Residents have been prevented from accessing nearby lands and even some homes still under construction in the area. Abu Haniya noted that the colonists had first attempted to establish a presence in the same area in early March by erecting tents, but local residents confronted them and thwarted their attempts at the time. M.N. *** Dozens of the illegal Israeli settlers led by extremist rabbi storm Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police protection Thursday 19-June-2025 Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC) Dozens of Israeli settlers, led by far-right former Knesset member rabbi Yehuda Glick, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Thursday morning, under the protection of Israeli occupation police forces. According to Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Governorate, 134 settlers stormed the holy site in groups through the Al-Maghariba Gate, accompanied by Glick and shielded by heavily armed police officers. Witnesses reported that settlers performed Talmudic rituals inside the Mosque’s courtyards, with some engaging in what observers described as “provocative prostrations.” The incursion is part of a growing trend of settler activity inside the compound, which is considered a flashpoint in the occupied city. Glick, a prominent advocate for changing the status quo at Al-Aqsa, has long pushed for increased Jewish access to the site, a move widely viewed by Palestinians and much of the international community as an act of provocation. On Wednesday, Israeli authorities reopened the 'Hatta and Al-Silsila gates leading to the Old City, allowing only Palestinians over the age of 65 to access Al-Aqsa. That same evening, the Mosque was cleared of worshippers after prayers, and all gates were sealed. The two entrances were reopened at dawn Thursday, but restrictions remain in place. The Israeli occupation had closed the Mosque entirely since last Friday, blocking Palestinians from praying there and imposing strict security measures throughout the Old City. Palestinian residents have faced repeated harassment and movement restrictions, particularly around the Mosque’s entrances. These actions are seen as part of a broader campaign by Israeli authorities to assert control over the site and restrict Palestinian access, especially during politically sensitive periods. *** IOFs seize building, raze house in southern Nablus Thursday 19-June-2025 NABLUS, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) seized a Palestinian residential building and demolished a house in southern Nablus on Thursday. According to local sources, the IOFs stormed an apartment building belonging to Na-il Owais in Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya village and used it as a military post for several hours before leaving it in the morning. Israeli occupation forces also spread in the village’s streets and set up a makeshift checkpoint at its main entrance. In 'Ainabus village, Israeli bulldozers demolished a two-story house belonging to the family of martyr Samir 'Husain after forcing its residents to leave it. Local sources said the IOFs also bulldozed the fence surrounding the house and nearby trees. *** IOAR forces Palestinians to raze two homes, delivers evacuation orders in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Thursday 19-June-2025 Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC) The Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) forced two Palestinian citizens to demolish their own homes in Bait 'Haneena town, north of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), on Thursday morning, claiming they were built with no permits. According to Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) governor’s office, Israeli police forces escorting municipal workers forced Rami 'Alloun and his son, Mu'hamed, to evacuate their homes and demolish it at their own expense. Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) homeowners find themselves forced to demolish their homes at their own expense in order to avoid paying the Israeli municipality exorbitant money in fines and demolition expenses. The rate at which Palestinian homes and structures are demolished in east Jerusalem has almost doubled since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, human rights groups and monitoring organizations say. The demolitions are ordered by the Israeli municipal authority which claims that many Palestinian homes and structures are illegally built without permission. Almost all attempts by Palestinian families in east Jerusalem to apply for planning permission are rejected by the IOA. That means growing families say they have no choice but to build without permits and face the consequences – huge fines and demolition orders. In another incident, the Israeli higher court issued a verdict ordering the families of Shuwaiki and Odeh to evacuate their homes in Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan. According to the court orders, these Jerusalemite families have to evacuate their homes within 30 days before allowing illegal Israeli settlers to move in. Recently, the Israeli rights group Ir Amim has reported that Israeli demolitions of Palestinian homes and structures in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) surged in May, with a total of 33 buildings demolished. *** Israeli occupation forces install iron gate at main entrance of Bait Lid near Toulkarm TULKARM, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces installed an iron gate this evening at the main entrance to the town of Bait Lid, east of Toulkarm, fully sealing off the access point. Local residents told WAFA that the Israeli military removed the earth mounds that had previously blocked the entrance and erected a metal gate in their place — a move seen as a further tightening of the siege imposed on the town. The earth barriers were relocated to the entrance of a gas station in the nearby industrial area. The original closure of the main entrance to Bait Lid was imposed in November 2023, when Israeli forces placed earth mounds to isolate the town from surrounding areas. Since then, residents have been forced to use dangerous and rugged alternative routes to reach Toulkarm and other destinations. In a related development, Israeli forces recently sealed off the main entrance to the neighboring town of Rameen, also located east of Toulkarm, with an iron gate. That entrance had likewise been blocked by earth mounds since November 2023. M.N. *** Israeli occupation forces halt agricultural work, seize equipment south of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem) Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities issued a verbal notice on Thursday to halt work on a piece of agricultural land in the village of Wadi al-Nis, south of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem). According to Salim Abu 'Hammad, head of the Wadi al-Nis Village Council, an Israeli military unit stormed the village and verbally ordered a local resident to stop construction work, which included building cement retaining walls around a plot of land in the village. The owner was warned that the structures would later be demolished. The forces also seized an excavator belonging to another resident, which was being used on the site. The land, approximately 10 dunums (around 2.5 acres), was intended for agricultural development. In a related incident, a Palestinian security source told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the area surrounding the Bilal Bin Raba'h Mosque at the northern entrance to Bait La'hm (Bethlehem) and confiscated a concrete pump that was in operation at the time. These incidents are part of ongoing Israeli restrictions and measures impacting Palestinian development and daily life in the occupied West Bank. M.N. *** *** News Related to the Israeli Genocidal War on the Palestinian People *** MoWA: Number of Palestinian female refugees in occupied territories exceeds 1.1 million RAMALLAH, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – The number of Palestinian female refugees in the occupied territories exceeds 1.1 million, the Ministry of Women Affairs (MoWA) said on Thursday. Marking the occasion of the International Refugee Day, the MoWA issued a report that reviewed the reality of Palestinian female refugees in the West Bank, including Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), the Gaza Strip, and the diaspora, given the ongoing genocidal aggression and forceful displacement inflicted by the Israeli occupation. The report revealed that the number of Palestinian female refugees in the occupied territories exceeds 1.1 million, accounting for approximately 21% of the total population, and more than 1.8 others live in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon in overcrowded and dilapidated infrastructure and declining international support. It also revealed that more than 700,000 Palestinian female refugees are in the war-battered Gaza Strip distributed in eight refugee camps amidst a total collapse of infrastructure due to Israel’s genocidal aggression, that has resulted in killing of 55,706 Palestinians and injuring 130,101 others, at a time when over 500,000 others live in harsh conditions manifest in the lack of essential services and the large-scale destruction of houses in the West Bank. In the course of its aggression in the Jenin refugee camp, not to mention other camps, Israel has destroyed approximately 400,000 houses and threatened to tear down hundreds more. It showed that the unemployment rates among Palestinian female refugees surged from 34.5% in the pre-October 2023 period to 46.1% in the first quarter of 2025, and that food expenditures account for approximately 35.6% of household income in the refugee camps, demonstrating a fragile state of food security. K.F. *** Nine EU countries urge European Commission to review legality of trade linked to Israeli settlements BRUSSELS, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Nine European Union member states have called on the European Commission to examine whether trade involving goods and services produced in Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory is consistent with international law. The joint appeal was announced by Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot in a post on X. The countries backing the initiative are Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden. Prévot stated that the request aligns with the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on July 19, 2024. The ICJ opinion emphasized that international actors must avoid engagement in trade that contributes to the perpetuation of the unlawful situation created by Israel’s settlement activities in occupied Palestinian land. He stressed that upholding international law is a shared responsibility among all nations, and that legal clarity must guide political decisions in a rules-based international system. In a follow-up post, Prévot clarified that the group of nine countries is asking the European Commission to study how EU policies, particularly in relation to trade involving Israeli settlements, can be aligned more closely with international legal standards. The ICJ's 2024 advisory opinion concluded that Israel must end its occupation and withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territory as swiftly as possible. It also called for an immediate halt to the expansion of settlements and the removal of all settlers from the occupied territory. Furthermore, the ICJ asserted that all UN member states are obligated not to recognize the legality of the situation arising from Israel’s continued presence in the occupied territory and not to aid or assist in maintaining that situation.
